Parks Content 🌳

In my role at Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation, I help create content for the parks social media pages. Helping tell the story of the vast and beautiful parks system in Nashville is inspiring. Being able to capture nature's beauty on a regular basis has been a truly rewarding part of my career so far.

In August 2025, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement. This sparked a wide array of marketing posts from companies across the world celebrating the celebrity couple's milestone. Swift mentions reading in Centennial Park in Nashville, TN on her album "Folklore" in the song "invisible string." To bring Metro Parks in on the trend, I used footage of the bench, joking that the couple was welcome to come read in the park anytime.

💻 This garnered over 40,000 views and over 300 interactions on Facebook and Instagram.

Life can be hectic, and we forget to stop and look at the beauty around us. In summer of 2025, "Almost forgot that this is the whole point" was a trending video caption. Encouraging those engaging with a variety of content to seek out the beauty in simple things. I tied this trend back to parks by showcasing footage from programs, every day activities, animal behavior, and more taking place in Nashville's Parks system.

Wave Country is home to Nashville's original wave pool. A staple during summer time in Davidson County, thousands of locals and tourists visit the water park from Memorial Day to Labor Day each year. To promote it reopening in summer 2025, I created this video, rewriting part of the "A Visit from St. Nicholas (The Night Before Christmas)" poem by Clement-Clark-Moore; "'Twas the day before Wave Country reopened" was a cute way to showcase preparations for the season of pool day fun at the water park.

💻 Viewed over 15,000 times with over 250 interactions on Instagram and Facebook.

In preparation for Earth Day 2025, I spoke with a naturalist, Elyse Dilks, at Warner Park Nature Center about all the ways Nashvillians can celebrate Earth Day in April, and every day! From bird watching to wildflower walks, there is always so much to do at Metro Parks' Nature Centers. Nature Centers not only promote environmental education and conservation, but they are also great gathering spaces for Nashvillians and tourists to step in nature, and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville. You can visit nashville.gov/parks to see the latest events schedule four Metro Parks Nature Centers; many of the programs are FREE or provided at low costs.

💻 On Instagram and Facebook this had over 2,100 views and around 70 interactions.

Golf is an integral park of Nashville's parks system. The city is home to 7 public golf courses. Ted Rhodes Golf Course is a historically black course located in North Nashville near Tennessee State University. A valuable and long-term Metro Parks volunteer, Patricia 'Pat' Gregory, is a pillar at in the golfing community in Nashville, and especially at Ted Rhodes Golf Course. Ms. Gregory has taught hundreds of young people and older Nashvillians to fall in love with the game of golf. In honor of Women's History Month, I was able to interview Ms. Gregory and celebrate her contributions to our community.

💻 Between Facebook and Instagram, this video was viewed over 5,500 times, bringing in over 160 interactions.
